– Two simple methods: dried or Liquid – <\/h6>\n\n\n\n

  1. Crack them open – I use my pestle for this, but you can use whatever you at home: hammer, etc…<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Remove the brown outer shell – you only need the pale inner nut (this contains the most saponins)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. If you plan to store them long-term, do this in batches. Peeling is easier when the nuts are still fresh.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Great for stocking up during autumn and using all year round. You can use dried horse chestnut pieces directly, similar to soap nuts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    1. After peeling, chop the inner nuts into small pieces. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    2. Dry them thoroughly using a dehydrator, oven on low heat (50\u00b0C), or lay them out and leave in a warm dry place for several days.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    3. Store in a cloth bag or grind into powder and store in a jar.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                  • Not recommended for delicate fabrics like wool or silk, always do a patch test if unsure.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • For white laundry and tough stains, boost the wash with a tablespoon of washing soda or baking soda.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • For pre-treating stains, use gall soap before washing.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
